Job summary

PGI Foods in Lowell, MA is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist for the day shift. You will perform quality inspections on soups, sauces, and specialty products and document results to ensure safety and consistency before packaging.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a related degree is a plus, and QA/QC experience in food manufacturing is preferred. English fluency is required, with Spanish a plus. PGI Foods offers growth opportunities and a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred.
• Experience in QA/QC in food manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with soups, sauces, or similar products preferred.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• English fluency; Spanish bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections and testing on soups, sauces, and products before packaging.
• Measure product characteristics such as consistency, pH, and particulate distribution.
• Conduct sensory evaluations for taste, texture, aroma, and appearance.
• Document quality testing results and maintain production records.
• Identify non-conformances and communicate findings to production leadership.
• Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with QA, R&D, and Production to improve consistency and processes.
• Monitor quality trends and report potential issues before they impact production.
• Help maintain compliance with food safety and quality programs.
