PGI Foods is seeking a dedicated Food Quality Technician to join our Quality team in Lowell, MA. You will help ensure soups, sauces, and specialty foods meet the highest standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collect product samples and perform quality testing (Brix, pH, viscosity, and other tests).
• Conduct in-process and finished product inspections for quality and consistency.
• Review batch records and production documentation for accuracy.
• Identify and document non-conforming products and place materials on quality hold when needed.
• Perform sanitation verification, environmental monitoring, and allergen testing.
• Monitor production areas for temperature, humidity and other environmental conditions.
• Inspect incoming materials and finished products for quality and spec compliance.
• Review product labels for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to address quality concerns and drive improvements.

What You'll Do

As a Food Quality Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring every product meets our quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect product samples and perform quality testing, including Brix, pH, viscosity, and other analytical tests.
• Conduct in-process and finished product inspections to verify product quality and consistency.
• Review batch records and production documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and document non-conforming products and place materials on quality hold when required.
• Perform sanitation verification, environmental monitoring, and allergen testing.
• Monitor production areas for temperature, humidity, and other environmental conditions.
• Inspect incoming raw materials and finished products for quality and specification compliance.
• Review product labels for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with Production and Quality teams to resolve quality concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours as production needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety programs.
• Knowledge of food manufacturing quality testing and laboratory procedures.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
