Job summary

Richardson is hiring a Lab Technician to safeguard food safety and quality. You will sample, test, and review finished goods, and communicate issues to Operations and packaging teams. The role emphasizes adherence to HACCP, accurate labeling, and proper storage of materials.

Responsibilities include floor audits, documenting results, and identifying hazards. You will collaborate with leadership to implement improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as a baseline requirement.
• Overtime and weekend work as needed by production schedule.
• Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Preferred: Bachelor's in food-related field (Food Science, Microbiology, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Gathers samples and analyzes finished product against specs and HACCP.
• Conduct routine floor audits of production and packaging areas.
• Complete multiple quality tests and communicate results to operations.
• Ensure codes match packaging and meet customer specs.
• Document analyzed product and maintain proper labeling and storage.
• Identify food safety hazards and work with managers on solutions.
• Measure samples and report out-of-spec items.
• Hold products out of specification and coordinate disposition.
• Maintain retention samples for quality purposes.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and sanitation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
