Job summary

Peterson-Farms, Inc. in Stockton, CA is seeking a Food Safety Quality Technician to help ensure products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

The role involves inspecting, sampling, and testing raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, collaborating with Production, QA, and Management to support FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, and SQF compliance. Candidates should be able to calibrate equipment, perform testing, document results, and maintain clean, audit-ready lab spaces.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food manufacturing or processing preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow written instructions.
• Knowledge of GMP/GHP and food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment calibration and verification.
• Conduct chemical solution testing with proper sampling.
• Grade finished products to customer and quality specs.
• Test raw materials from storage and incoming deliveries.
• Carry out pre-operational sanitation inspections with pH testing.
• Monitor environment for contamination risks within the facility.
• Enter test results into the SPC database promptly.
• Document findings clearly in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Notify supervisors of out-of-spec results and take corrective actions.
• Maintain GLPs and GMPs in daily work.
• Keep laboratory and work areas clean and audit-ready.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on non-conformances.
• Assist with HACCP, GMP, SQF program development and maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and report to QA leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned by QA Lead, Lab Supervisor, or Management.
