Are you passionate about healthy food, kids, and making a difference every single day? We’re looking for a Food Program Coordinator who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, bring meals to life, and create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for youth ages 7-18. You'll play a key role in delivering nutritious meals through our Food Program (CACFP/SFSP) while sparking healthy habits and curiosity about food along the way. This is more than just a kitchen job—this is a chance to impact lives!

What You’ll Do
  • Help prepare, serve, and clean up meals/snacks in line with state regulations
  • Create a welcoming, clean, and safe meal service environment
  • Monitor food safety, allergies, and cross-contact prevention
  • Organize food inventory, deliveries, and stock rotation
  • Collaborate with YMCA, BGC staff, and volunteers during mealtimes
  • Introduce youth to healthy eating habits and fun food exploration
  • Support garden-to-table activities—yes, we grow our own food too!
  • Maintain compliance records and deep‑cleaning schedules
What You Bring
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (must be 18+)
  • Basic understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene, and food handling
  • A team‑player who can also fly solo when needed
  • Flexibility—some evenings and weekends may be required
  • Bonus points if you have food safety certification (ServSafe), kitchen experience, or love working with kids!

Schedule

Part‑time. School Year: Mondays‑Thursdays from 2:30 p‑6:00 p (up to 15 hours) / Summer: Mondays‑Fridays from 11:30‑3:30 (up to 20 hours)

Pay

$16‑20/hour (based on experience for the position)
