Greater Chicago Food Depository in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Food Production Assistant to support production, packaging, and distribution of prepared meals. The role emphasizes food safety, HACCP compliance, and efficient kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Food Handler Sanitation Certification or ability to pass test for certification.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift equipment and food containers that weigh up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Food Prep – adhere to food safety and recipe guidelines to safely prepare food items; ensure compliance with HACCP and sanitation procedures
• Meal Packaging – maintain consistency and quality of prepared meals; guarantee IDA compliance and safe manufacturing procedures at all times
• Sanitation Management – keep a clean workstation and assist the sanitation team as needed
• Inventory Control – assist with receiving and management of FIFO, along with detailed organization of storage areas
• Other duties as assigned
