Greater-Chicago-Food-Depository is seeking a Food Production Assistant to support the preparation, packaging, and distribution of meals for the community. The role focuses on food safety, sanitation, and safe kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will help maintain HACCP standards, assist with inventory and storage organization, and collaborate with the team to ensure timely meal production and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Food Handler Sanitation Certification or ability to pass test for certification.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift equipment and food containers weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to take direction and feedback.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Food Prep – adhere to food safety and recipe guidelines; ensure HACCP and sanitation procedures.
• Meal Packaging – maintain quality and IDA compliance.
• Sanitation Management – keep a clean workstation and assist sanitation team.
• Inventory Control – assist with FIFO receiving and storage organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:A member of the Chicago's Community Kitchens (CCK) Team who supports the production, packaging, and distribution of prepared meals for our community.
