Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Food Prep Supervisor for the Grand Rapids area. This full-time role is scheduled four days per week on the first shift, leading the food preparation team to deliver consistent quality and service.

The ideal candidate has prior food service supervisory experience, strong customer service skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Office. ServSafe certification is preferred. Competitive benefits are offered.

AVI Foodsystems is looking for an energetic and optimistic leader to fill the role of Food Prep Supervisor, Full-time. This position is scheduled four (4) days a week, 1st shift

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assemble, combine, and cook ingredients
• Attend to the detail and presentation of each order
• Place and expedite orders
• Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients
• Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients
• Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items
• Stores leftovers according to established standards
• Provide supervision to the food service team to ensure they consistently meet our standards of superior customer service, quality and cleanliness
• Ensure the profitability of the business by operating within established guidelines and requirements for sales growth, food cost, labor, and all other controllable costs
• Participate in team member meetings and training programs; provide coaching to team members as needed
• Ensure compliance with proper sanitation and safety standards
• Interact professionally and effectively with all levels of individuals, ranging from client contacts and company executives, to hourly team members
• Provide prompt, accurate and professional responses, guidance and information to clients and company management as needed or requested

Requirements:

• Previous food service supervisory experience
• ServSafe certification preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with cash handling procedures and reconciliation of cash banks and reports
• Knowledge of POS systems preferred
