Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician for a billion-dollar food manufacturer in McDonough, GA. This day-shift role (4 AM–4 PM, 2-on/2-off/3-on) relies on your mechanical and electrical skills to keep high-speed lines running smoothly.

You will troubleshoot and repair plant equipment (mixers, conveyors, boilers, PLCs) and support safety and quality programs. A strong background in manufacturing, boiler/hot water systems, and schematics is required; the role offers strong

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; technical college or PLC certification preferred.
• 5+ years mechanical/electrical maintenance experience with PLC troubleshooting.
• 4+ years in manufacturing; food manufacturing/packaging preferred.
• Proficient with electrical meters, maintenance tools, and metalworking equipment.
• Experience with boiler/hot water systems.
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to read schematics, plans, and O&M manuals.
• Physically able to stand, bend, climb, and lift 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant machinery: mixers, conveyors, compressors, motors, pumps.
• Repair/replace control devices: switches, sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters.
• Maintain oven components: burners, valves, bearings, scrapers.
• Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair Allen‑Bradley PLCs.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Operate metalworking equipment: welders, drill press, grinders, sheet metal tools.
• Monitor and record environmental conditions (e.g., wastewater measurements).
• Collaborate with production, refrigeration, and warehouse teams.
• Assist in developing SOPs and duty cycles for equipment maintenance.
• Participate in plant safety, SQF2000, health, and environmental programs.
• Support boiler and hot water systems maintenance.
