Job summary

WESTROCK COFFEE is seeking a Machine Operator to efficiently set up, operate, and monitor food processing and packaging equipment on a high-speed production line. You will perform routine checks, make adjustments, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively including speaking, writing, active listening and taking instructions.
• Good leadership and training skills.
• Ability and willingness to promote and support a positive culture and follow Westrock Coffee values.
• Ability to collaborate with all parts of the operation to achieve goals and objectives.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operates production equipment safely and efficiently to hit production/waste goals.
• Completes all required documents and checklists related to equipment operation.
• Interprets work orders and instructions to ensure proper materials and specifications.
• Troubleshoots and resolves basic-to-moderate operation difficulties.
• Ensures coffee has adequate time to gas-off.
• Completes change-over sheet and coordinates delivery of materials to packaging line.
• Programs packaging machine for item based on specification sheet.
• Adjusts packaging equipment for appropriate case size.
• Manages packaging by closing boxes, labeling, and sending through tape machine.
• Performs visual, weight, and seal inspections of packages.
• Identifies nonconforming goods for proper disposition.
• Moves boxes to pallets and records pallet details.
• Records downtime and submits maintenance work requests if needed.
• Cleans machines and work areas to prevent dust on the packaging line.
• Collects samples for quality assurance purposes.
• Follows all quality and safety protocols with PPE and clean work areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
