Job summary

Management & Training Corporation operates the Texas Civil Commitment Center in Littlefield, Texas, and is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare facility meals according to pre-planned menus in line with MTC and TCCO directives.

You will handle quantity cooking for clients, maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen, and supervise basic food service tasks while upholding safety standards, quality, and efficiency. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
• Six (6) months' experience in food service preparation required. Correctional, commercial, or institutional food service experience preferred.
• Must have valid food handler's certificate.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A valid driver license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of clients.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition. Ensure work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
• Maintain accountability of kitchen tools.
• Prepare foods as directed for special facility functions and visitors.
• Assist in instructing clients assigned to food services in the safe, hygienic method of preparing and serving appetizing meals.
