Job summary

Meijer, a family‑operated retailer, is hiring a Food Clerk to deliver friendly service in our Fresh departments. You will assist customers, share product knowledge, and keep displays fresh and organized.

This role involves stocking across Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery, following safety standards. Physical tasks like lifting and standing are required; prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or food service experience is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong listening and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
