Job summary

HOTEL PASEO in Palm Desert, CA seeks a Food & Beverage Supervisor to oversee all outlets, ensuring quality, service standards, and cost controls. You will supervise staff, manage schedules, and support daily operations in a boutique luxury setting.

The role engages with guests to ensure a superior experience, maintains inventory, and collaborates with the Restaurant Manager on training and compliance. Previous hospitality experience is preferred.

• Solid understanding of beer, wine, and cocktail service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Operations and Restaurant Manager in supervising Restaurant and Food & Beverage staff, including scheduling, service standards, training, motivation, safety, and daily operations.
• Ensure all Food & Beverage outlets meet sanitation, safety, and brand standards; verify equipment functionality; inspect facility appearance; follow up on maintenance and work orders.
• Train, schedule, and direct staff to support efficient operations; conduct pre-shift meetings and participate in monthly meetings; communicate house counts and updates.
• Monitor product quality, service standards, and guest satisfaction; ensure consistent food prep and beverage service; align with policies.
• Engage with guests to assess satisfaction, address concerns, and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Document inventory, forecast usage, and monitor supplies to keep outlets stocked.
• Perform administrative duties: house bank, emails, payroll processing, reporting.

What you will be doing:

• Assist the Director of Operations and Restaurant Manager in supervising Restaurant and Food & Beverage staff, including scheduling, service standards, training, motivation, safety, and daily operations.


• Ensure all Food & Beverage outlets meet sanitation, safety, and brand standards; verify equipment functionality; inspect facility appearance; and follow up on maintenance and work orders in a timely manner.


• Train, schedule, and direct Food & Beverage staff to support efficient operations; conduct pre-shift meetings and participate in monthly departmental meetings, communicate house counts, menu changes, and operational updates.


• Monitor product quality, service standards, and guest satisfaction across all outlets, ensuring consistent food preparation, adherence to beverage and service standards, and alignment with guest expectations and hotel policies.


• Engage with guests to assess satisfaction, gather feedback, address concerns, and resolve conflicts in a professional and timely manner.


• Document inventory, forecast usage, and monitor supplies to ensure outlets remain adequately stocked with linen, glassware, silverware, china, condiments, and other service essentials.


• Perform administrative responsibilities including maintaining the house bank, managing emails, tracking Q times, post-shift reporting, payroll processing, and general administrative duties.


• Maintain professional appearance, demeanor, ethics, and leadership standards; support hotel policies and procedures; collaborate with other hotel departments; and perform additional duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• Strong working knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including food preparation techniques and service standards.


• Solid understanding of beverage operations, including beer, wine, and cocktail service.


• Ability to remain on your feet and move throughout the property for the duration of a shift, including restaurants, lounges, banquet spaces, and kitchen areas.


• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to interpret internal documents and reports, and to interact clearly and professionally with guests and associates.


• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers, exercising patience, tact, and diplomacy to resolve conflicts, diffuse tension, and gather accurate information.


• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred.
