HOTEL PASEO in Palm Desert, CA seeks a Barista to deliver friendly, efficient service while crafting beverages and managing guest expectations.

You will learn the menu, maintain cafe standards, operate the POS system, and support a team in a boutique luxury setting. Full-time and part-time opportunities offered, with benefits and shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality, guest service or barista experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and familiarity with hospitality industry.
• Ability to build relationships with management, staff, and guests.
• Works well independently and in teams; capable of multitasking and prioritizing.

Responsibilities

• Take guest orders and craft beverages with accuracy and a friendly attitude.
• Deliver excellent service, proper presentation, and product knowledge of café offerings.
• Follow merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing standards for products.
• Handle guest orders from start to finish to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain flow of dishes to the kitchen and restock supplies as needed.
• Operate POS system and manage cash handling procedures.
• Manage designated stations with multitasking and side work completion.
• Process checks and close paperwork, addressing guest concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

• Fully understand the menu, including ingredients, preparation, and service standards for beverages and dishes.
• Deliver excellent service accents, including proper presentation and product knowledge of café offerings.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
• Handle guest orders from start to finish, ensuring complete satisfaction.
• Maintain efficient flow of soiled dishes to the kitchen and restock clean supplies in the restaurant.
• Efficiently operate the POS system and follow proper cash handling procedures.
• Manage designated stations with proficiency in multitasking and side work completion.
• Process guest checks and submit closing paperwork promptly, addressing any guest complaints as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior hospitality, customer service or barista experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and familiarity with the hospitality industry.
• Ability to build effective relationships with management, staff, and the public.
• Works well independently and in teams; must be a collaborative team player.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Outgoing, pleasant personality with the ability to work under pressure.
• Physically able to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs., and perform various tasks.
