Food & Beverage Manager

Superior Shores Resort | Two Harbors, Minnesota

At Superior Shores, great hospitality starts with great people. We’re looking for a Food & Beverage Manager who knows that running a successful restaurant is about more than food and drinks—it’s about creating an experience guests remember.

Located along the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior, Superior Shores Restaurant & Bar welcomes resort guests, local guests, families, and travelers looking to enjoy great food, drinks, and an incredible view. As our Food & Beverage Manager, you’ll lead the restaurant and bar team while helping create a welcoming, efficient, and memorable experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys being part of the action. You’ll spend time on the floor supporting your team, working with guests, solving problems, and making sure the operation runs smoothly from opening through closing.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar
  • Create a welcoming, professional, and positive environment for both guests and employees
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop Food & Beverage team members
  • Build effective schedules based on business levels, staffing needs, and labor goals
  • Set clear expectations for service, performance, and guest experience
  • Be visible and hands‑on during service, jumping in wherever the team needs support
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and address questions, concerns, and service recovery situations promptly and professionally
  • Ensure food and beverages are prepared and served according to established quality and presentation standards
  • Maintain strong communication between the front of house, kitchen, bar, and resort leadership teams
  • Oversee daily opening, closing, cash handling, and operational procedures
  • Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs and work toward established financial goals
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and product control
  • Help develop and maintain menus, beverage offerings, specials, and promotions
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and other applicable regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe restaurant and bar environment
  • Review operational needs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and guest service
  • Handle employee coaching, performance concerns, and disciplinary matters in partnership with resort leadership and Human Resources
  • Support seasonal staffing and help build a strong team during peak North Shore travel periods
  • Collaborate with resort leadership on events, group functions, and special dining experiences
  • Lead by example and step in to support the team during busy periods
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the overall success of the resort
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous restaurant or food and beverage management experience
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant and bar operations
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to train, coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfortable working hands‑on alongside the team during busy service periods
  • Understanding of labor, food, and beverage cost controls
  • Knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service requirements
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and be active throughout the workday
