Job summary

Qualifications

• Admitted to NYS Bar and in good standing.
• At least one year of U.S. legal experience after bar admission.
• Six months as Agency Attorney Interne (30086) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify custodians and collect records in response to FOIL requests; assess and gather responsive documentation.
• Review FOIL requests and responses; redact exempt information as appropriate.
• Perform legal research; draft guidance related to FOIL issues.
• Track deadlines; maintain FOIL spreadsheet; highlight FOILs of interest for press.
• Prepare regular reports of FOIL request traffic.
• Advise on FOIL processes and potential new technology for compliance.
