Responsibilities
Manage the Headquarters Department of the Air Force FOIA and Privacy Act Programs.
Process and track FOIA/PA requests from intake through final disposition.
Ensure compliance with FOIA, PA, Air Force directives, and public law.
Interpret and apply complex laws, regulations, and policies related to information access.
Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and review responsive documents.
Review records for disclosure, redaction, and release determinations.
Prepare written correspondence, reports, and responses to FOIA/PA requests.
Conduct research and analysis related to the review and declassification of classified records.
Negotiate with submitters and requestors to clarify requests and facilitate release decisions.
Review administrative audits and Inspector General (IG) reports and recommend corrective actions.
Work closely with SAF/IG and maintain strong professional working relationships.
Close an average of 15–20 FOIA/PA cases per month.
Ensure all requests meet intake requirements and statutory deadlines.
