Job summary

Mamahuhu in San Francisco is seeking a friendly FOH Shift Lead to help run food service, supervise team members, and maintain our high hospitality standards.

You’ll work across dining room, POS counter, and phone line, coaching staff and ensuring smooth service during shifts. Prior leadership in hospitality is preferred; a positive, team-focused attitude is essential for a fun, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in hospitality leadership (Shift Lead or similar).
• Strong work ethic and team player mindset.
• Sense of urgency and ability to drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Run food, bus dining room, and manage the POS counter during service.
• Open and close Front of House each shift.
• Occasionally support the expediter in the kitchen.
• Provide excellent service aligned with Mamahuhu's standards.

Job Overview

Mamahuhu is growing its front of house team. We have a casual, 40-seat dining room with bench, counter and booth seating. The dining room is designed for counter-service style ordering where guests line up, order at the counter, receive a number and we bring the food out to them when it's ready. The front of house is designed to be simple and lean and works great when we have a tight, organized group who can work efficiently and as a team.

We are looking for a friendly and positive FOH Shift Lead that can run food, bus the dining room, hold down our point of sale (POS) counter during service and open and close the Front of House during any day of the week. The position is dynamic and will have you working in the dining room, at the POS counter taking orders, answering the phone and occasionally supporting our expediter in the kitchen. Our Shift Lead position is the first layer of leadership above our entry-level Team Member positions. As Shift Lead you are a leader during your shift, helping to coach our Team Members provide excellent service to Mamahuhu's standards day in and day out. • Ideally has at least 1 year of experience in a hospitality leadership role (Shift Lead or similar)

• Experience with or interest in Chinese cuisine is a plus!
