Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Machine Operator at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. This role involves safely operating equipment to ensure materials meet customer specs within a dynamic production environment.

The ideal candidate will perform cutting, quality checks, handle trim material, and coordinate with the production team to minimize downtime. Training is provided on the job, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience as a machine operator is preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment.
• Must have basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform cutting operations according to programs and customer specifications.
• Perform quality checks on materials to ensure the product meets customer specifications.
• Unload finished cut foam material and transport to next production area.
• Place excess trim material in baler.
• Maintain communication with line personnel to minimize downtime.
• Record pertinent information of programs.
• Operate baler to bale and secure trim material.
• Cross-train to operate other cutting equipment as needed.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by supervision.
