Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis, FL is seeking a Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Assistant PRN to support our patient meal program. You will prepare foods and beverages for patients, followrecipes and production sheets, and maintain proper food handling and cleanliness.

You will join a collaborative team in a fast-paced hospital setting, with opportunities for growth and cross-training while contributing to safe, quality food service for our patients and their families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some kitchen experience is desirable.
• Ability to follow recipes and production sheets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various foods and beverages for patients.
• Follow recipes, production sheets, and guidelines.
• Label, date, and store foods properly.
• Follow proper food handling techniques (gloves, handwashing, hair covering).
• Set up food and supplies to cover service needs.
• Check daily menu needs and prep for the next day.
• Help reduce costs by minimizing waste.
• Utilize leftovers in a cost-conscious manner.
• Report shortages or outdated items promptly.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a FNS Assistant to join our Food Services team. You would perform a variety of food services for the patients. You would also perform cleaning and dish room duties as well as other related cleaning tasks. You would join a team that cares like family and always works in a collaborative manner.

In this role you will:

• Prepare various foods and beverages for patients.
• Always prepare and portion foods following established guidelines, recipes, and production sheets.
• Consistently cover, label, and date foods and stores them properly according to procedures.
• Follow proper food handling techniques (gloves, handwashing, hair covering, no eating on the job, etc.)
• Always prepare and set up food and supplies in sufficient quantity to cover service requirements. Restock as needed.
• Always check daily menu needs and complete advance preparation for the next day.
• Help to reduce cost by minimizing waste and over production.
• Act in a cost conscious manner by utilizing leftovers appropriately.
• Promptly report food shortages, outdated items or any products received in an unacceptable condition.

Job Requirements
