Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a hardware design and test engineer to support the development and operations of the New Glenn second stage (2E). You will engage in trade studies, design, model, and analyze subsystems, and drive hardware development through manufacturing and testing on schedule and within budget.

You will perform life‑cycle support from early trade studies through test, qualification, and on‑orbit operations, including data analysis and automation improvements to streamline workflows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering required.
  • Experience with CAD and engineering drawings.
  • Strong application of first principles thermodynamics, heat transfer, solid mechanics, and fluid mechanics.
  • Ability to earn trust and contribute to an inclusive culture.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct trade studies for 2E subsystem design and future upgrades across multiple product areas.
  • Design, model, and analyze complex second stage subsystems including thermal fluid systems, structural components, and propulsion hardware.
  • Drive hardware development through manufacturing and testing on schedule and within budget.
  • Support implementation of designs through the entire product lifecycle, from initial trade studies through test, qualification, and on-orbit operations.
  • Support and participate in component and system level testing and data analysis following design efforts.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions across design, analysis, and testing workflows to streamline processes, reduce cycle time, and enable the team to scale efficiently toward NewGlenn launch rate targets.
