Job summary

Fill-Rite is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will design and develop innovative fluid-handling products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market and improve current designs for reliability and manufacturability.

You will create 3D models and drawings, perform testing and analyses, and ensure compliance with UL/CE/ATEX/IECEx/CSA standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across production and legacy products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of product development or mechanical design experience preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with testing, validation, root-cause analysis, and design optimization.
• Familiarity with hazardous-location product standards and regulatory compliance is preferred.
• Experience with ERP and Product Data Management (PDM) systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical fluid-handling products (pumps, meters, related equipment).
• Create 3D models, drawings, and documentation using SolidWorks and other tools.
• Develop prototypes, test, analyze results, and refine designs for performance and manufacturability.
• Conduct analyses including materials, structural, fluid dynamics, and failure investigations.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CE, ATEX, IECEx, CSA standards.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality for launches and production.
• Manage engineering changes, Bills of Material, and ERP/document control.
• Support legacy products and customer-specific solutions for quality, cost, and performance.
