Job summary

Rocket Lab USA in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Fluid Components Intern to support the design and development of valves and actuators for our oxidizer-rich engine program. You will work with a mentor and a small team to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical or Mechanical Engineering, with at least one semester remaining post internship and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree program in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical or Mechanical Engineering with at least one semester remaining post internship
• GPA 3.0 or above
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab work or projects)
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM/CNC and manufacturing processes is a plus

Responsibilities

• Work closely with mentor and team to apply engineering concepts to real challenges
• Contribute to design and testing of fluid components including valves and actuators
• Attend regular 1:1s with mentors to track progress and learning
• Engage with intern cohort and company events to build professional networks
