Job summary

Rocket Lab, based in Long Beach, CA, invites a Fluid Component Intern to join the Components team and contribute to design of second-generation valves and actuators for future missions.

You will work closely with a mentor, apply aerospace engineering concepts to real challenges, and participate in frequent check-ins and tech talks. This on-site internship emphasizes hands-on learning and cross-team collaboration to deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical or Mechanical Engineering with at least one semester remaining post internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, or project work) available.
  • Ideal GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • 6+ months of applied engineering experience would be nice to have.
  • CAD/CAM, CNC, 3D printing, GD&T, FEA, Lathe experience and related skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Work with your mentor and department to apply engineering knowledge and grow professionally.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced team to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
  • Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to track progress and learning.
  • Join tech talks and network with interns and employees to broaden exposure to projects.
