Job summary

dss+ Transportation is seeking a Full-Time Fire/Life Safety Inspector and Emergency Management Coordinator for the San Francisco Bay Area. The role focuses on supporting BART’s FLS initiatives, coordinating inspections, and leading emergency response efforts with local agencies.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in FLS/EM, a related bachelor’s degree, strong planning and scheduling skills, and the ability to work across multiple jurisdictions. Some Bay Area travel and site visits are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Documented experience in FLS inspections and emergency management.
• FLS program knowledge similar to BART requirements.
• Experience with planning, scheduling, and managing emergency response.
• Ability to work with local first responders and agencies in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with BART and local agencies to manage daily FLS inspection tasks.
• Support emergency management activities: meetings, action items, and minutes.
• Participate in investigations to determine root causes and track corrective actions.
• Develop and review FLS and emergency response policies for the BART system.
• Assist with contract and task management related to the FLS department.
