Job summary

Bay Area Rapid Transit seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support the District’s safety and compliance programs. Under supervision, you will conduct investigations, inspections, and workplace safety audits to reduce risk and improve safety culture.

You will develop and deliver OSHA-compliant training, prepare reports, and act as liaison with regulatory agencies while ensuring adherence to Cal/OSHA and district policies. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety engineering, industrial engineering, industrial hygiene, or a closely related field.
• Two years of full-time professional occupational health or safety experience.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English and meet physical requirements.
• Ability to conduct safety investigations and prepare detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings and prepare reports.
• Conduct safety inspections of District facilities and worksites.
• Develop, implement and audit safety programs in compliance with regulations.
• Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and drive safety education initiatives.
