Job summary
dss+ is seeking a Full-Time Fire/Life Safety Inspector and Emergency Management Coordinator to join the Bay Area team in the San Francisco/Oakland area. You will support the BART system with FLS inspections, emergency planning, and coordination with local authorities.
The role requires travel within the Bay Area and involves visiting construction sites and facilities. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of relevant FLS experience, a related bachelor's degree, and strong coordination skills for
Qualifications
- 5+ years relevant experience in fire life safety and emergency management.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; relevant certifications considered.
- Experience with FLS inspections, emergency management planning, and drills.
- Familiarity with Bay Area jurisdictions and local first responders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint; strong documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day facility inspection tasks for BART FLS and coordinate with local agencies.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities, including meetings and minutes.
- Assist in investigations, reports, and tracking non-conformance issues to closure.
- Develop and review FLS policies and emergency response plans for BART.
- Support contract management and scheduling of inspections and trainings.
