Job summary

Required are a Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology or related field, and active licensure or certification as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science.
• ASCP/AMT/AAB generalist certification or ASCP/AAB discipline certification required for Academic Medical Center facilities.
• Current license in the state of practice (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Performs, develops and interprets routine and/or specialized laboratory testing independently within established time frames.
• Performs quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting with appropriate documentation.
• Ensures compliance with safety, accreditation, and regulatory guidelines and participates in proficiency testing.
• Manages supply and reagent inventory and supports cost reduction initiatives.
• Adapts communication and approach to patient care processes and respects patient privacy.
