Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science or related science.
• Current state license in practice (if applicable).
• ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification as MLS/MT OR ASCP/AAB discipline certification if in Academic Medical Center.
• Proficiency with data entry and Windows applications; strong communication and analytic abilities.
• Ability to apply good judgement and interpersonal skills in patient care processes.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized lab testing accurately within established timeframes.
• Records and analyzes quality control data and maintains instrument performance; documents corrective actions.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards; follows safety and proficiency testing protocols.
• Participates in performance improvement efforts, inventory management and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Communicates effectively with team members and patients, respecting privacy and professional standards.
• Performs additional duties as required by the laboratory and department.
