Job summary

Jobot seeks an experienced Construction Defect Attorney to join our Florida team in Sarasota. The attorney will represent owners, developers, contractors, design professionals, and insurers in complex construction disputes across Florida.

The ideal candidate has strong litigation skills, deep knowledge of Florida construction law, and can manage matters from inception through resolution. On-site role with a focus on multi-party disputes and client relations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing.
• 2+ years of construction defect or construction litigation experience.
• Strong knowledge of Florida construction defect statutes and case law.
• Experience with expert-intensive litigation and complex matters.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and in teams.
• Business development or client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle construction defect matters involving residential, multifamily, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
• Represent clients in state and federal court litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, and expert reports.
• Analyze construction contracts, plans, and project documentation.
• Work with engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Conduct and defend depositions; participate in hearings and trials.
• Advise clients on risk management and dispute resolution strategies.
• Collaborate with partners on complex construction disputes.
