Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a Floral Clerk to assist customers with floral orders, create beginning-level floral designs, and keep the department stocked and attractive.

You will deliver warm, attentive service and help customers choose the perfect bouquet, whether in person or over the phone. In this fast-paced role you will assemble balloon bouquets, handle FTD/Teleflora orders, and ensure accuracy of order paperwork.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and help place floral orders in person or by phone.
• Prepare and replenish floral products including arrangements, corsages, and bouquets.
• Send and manage orders such as FTD and Teleflora while protecting order privacy.
• Review products for freshness and anticipate daily department needs.
• Water plants and maintain cleanliness of the department, coolers, counters, floors and sinks.
• Prepare daily delivery lists and deliver orders as needed.
• Unload trucks, store products properly, check in goods, and process invoices.
• Operate the department register, handle payments, and make change.
• Remove trash timely and assist with general department upkeep.
• Answer calls promptly and provide friendly service to customers.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code and department guidelines, assist with special projects.
