Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an entry-level Flooring Installation Technician to join our Cedar Rapids, IA area team. You will install diverse flooring materials, measure and cut to fit, and prepare surfaces for high-quality results on residential and commercial sites.

You will work in crews of about 25, with safety gear and personal tools as needed. This onsite contract role offers weekly pay and a benefits package, aligning with Aerotek’s workforce solutions approach.

Qualifications

• 6 months of construction experience or more.
• Basic tile installation and carpet installation experience preferred.
• Ability to install multiple flooring types (tile, LVP, vinyl, laminate, hardwood, carpet tile).
• Proficient measuring, cutting, and fitting of flooring materials.

Responsibilities

• Install a variety of flooring materials including ceramic/porcelain tile, LVP, vinyl, laminate, hardwood and carpet tile.
• Measure, cut and fit materials to project specs.
• Prepare surfaces: remove old flooring, level subfloors and repair as needed.
• Install decorative tile backsplashes and custom projects as required.
• Read project specs and layouts to complete work per requirements.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized job sites and use basic hand tools.
• Coordinate with homeowners, contractors and team members on site.
