Job summary

Inspire Interiors LLC is seeking an experienced Flooring Estimator to prepare accurate material and labor takeoffs and competitive bids for residential projects. You will review architectural plans, prepare bids using Excel templates and estimating software, and create supporting documents for builder submissions.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and creating and maintaining costing and bid templates.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an estimator in the residential flooring industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and project specifications.
• Experience using flooring & countertop digital takeoff or measuring software.
• Ability and willingness to learn SketchUp and Adobe software.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, complete work.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple bids and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Dependability, accountability, and a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
• Willingness to learn company software, processes, and AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural plans, specifications, and selection documents to determine project scope.
• Create accurate material and labor takeoffs using measuring and estimating software.
• Create and maintain Excel bid templates to calculate material costs, labor costs, and margins based on project specifications and company bidding strategies.
• Identify missing information or discrepancies and obtain clarification before finalizing bids.
• Prepare supporting documents, including flooring layouts, shower and tub drawings, countertop layouts, and package selection documents, as required.
• Use and learn with ChatGPT and established company Skills to improve efficiencies
• Use SketchUp and Adobe software to create, edit, review, and organize project drawings and bid documentation.
• Communicate with vendors, builders, and customers to obtain pricing, confirm specifications, and resolve questions needed to complete bids.
• Collaborate with company team members to confirm bid strategies, scope, pricing, and submission requirements.
• Review completed bids for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
• Track bid deadlines and revisions to ensure timely, complete submissions.
• Learn and use the company’s flooring take off program and established estimating processes.

Estimating scopes include flooring, shower and tub surrounds, other vertical tile applications, and countertops. This position reviews architectural plans, project specifications, prepares bids using Excel templates and estimating software, and creates supporting documents for builder bid submissions and package selections. The estimator will also use AI tools, SketchUp and Adobe software to prepare drawings, layouts, and supporting documents.
