Job summary

Floor & Decor in West Covina, CA is seeking a capable designer to meet with customers, understand project needs, and craft creative design concepts that reflect customers’ style, lifestyle, and budget. You will educate on requirements, schedule appointments, and collaborate with store teams to drive design projects from concept to installation.

The role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and use of design tools, with opportunities for career advancement within a dynamic retail

Qualifications

Minimum of one year interior design or retail/sales experience.
Degree in Design is a plus.
Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through referrals and leads.
Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice for residential and commercial projects.
Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
Manage multiple projects with accuracy, timeliness and follow-up.
Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff.
Engage in current design trends and use design applications like Salesforce.
Perform other duties as assigned.
