Job summary

Cogir Senior Living seeks a Floor Technician to maintain floors across a senior living community in Wilmington, NC. You will follow cleaning, safety, and infection-control practices in collaboration with the Environmental Services team.

The role is full-time with a schedule from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and requires availability on alternate weekends. You will ensure resident rooms and common areas meet high cleanliness and safety standards while respecting privacy and dignity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and willingness to complete trainings.
• Previous experience in long-term care, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or similar environments preferred.
• Experience with buffing, stripping, and waxing floors preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow instructions and documentation.
• Comfort with basic math and maintaining cleaning records.
• Detail-oriented, safety- and quality-conscious, able to work independently.
• Team player with professional interaction with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to operate floor-care equipment safely and report issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine floor care in resident rooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Follow daily, weekly, monthly floor-maintenance schedules.
• Deep clean, strip, and wax tiled floors per schedule.
• Prepare work areas, move furniture, and coordinate with team as needed.
• Collect and dispose of facility trash per procedures.
• Operate and maintain floor-care equipment safely.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and PPE requirements.
• Complete cleaning and maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and comfort while working.
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or other conditions affecting work.
