Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Gaithersburg, MD seeks an experienced Housekeeper in Environmental Services to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. The role, titled Floor Technician, focuses on daily cleaning of floors and carpets and following established procedures.

Requires at least 1 year of housekeeping experience; high school diploma or GED is desirable. Full-time, 40 hours weekly, daytime shifts; all procedures comply with FLSA non-exempt rules and vaccination

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Housekeeper for our Environmental Services Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Floor Technician, you will:

• Perform the day-to-day activities of the Environmental Services Department to ensure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
• Perform daily cleaning of floors and carpets in all assigned areas. All work to be done by following standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department to ensure a clean and wholesome environment.
• Be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Must be familiar with the use of detergents, germicides, and other cleaning/chemical supplies
• Collect, pack, and dispose of trash according to established procedures

Qualifications include:

• A high school diploma or GED is highly desired, but not required
• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience. Ability to communicate at a level, which allows for safe and efficient job performance.
• Ability to utilize supplies, tools and equipment safely and properly.

Work Schedule: Employment Type: Full-Time Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week Shift Type: Day Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend rotation Holiday Requirements: Rotating Pay Range: $18.00 - $23.48
