Job summary

Southern HealthCare Management is seeking a Floor Technician to perform routine floor care, cleaning, and maintenance in a healthcare-related facility. You will operate powered floor equipment, dry and damp mop, and ensure spaces are clean and safe for staff and patients.

The role requires attention to safety, ability to follow instructions, and basic literacy. Prior floor tech experience in institutional settings is preferred, with a supporting team culture and strong standards.

Qualifications

• Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
• Prior floor tech experience in an institutional environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance checks on all equipment prior to use.
• Secure the work area and posts proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.
• Floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
• Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells and upholstery.
• Maintenance of floor care equipment.
• Wall cleaning.
• Dusting (high and low).
• Periodic cleaning of restrooms, offices, or classrooms (as assigned by supervisor).
