Job summary

NHS Management, LLC's skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Ocala, FL is seeking a dependable Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services team. You will maintain all hard floors and carpets, helping to keep residents' surroundings clean, safe, and welcoming.

The role requires operating floor care equipment, following schedules, and collaborating with staff to ensure high sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Previous floor care or janitorial experience preferred.
• Experience operating floor maintenance equipment preferred.
• Ability to work independently and follow schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and respect toward elderly and disabled individuals.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be capable of performing the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating floor care equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hard surface floors through stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, and refinishing.
• Operate floor care equipment including buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and carpet cleaning machines.
• Dust mop, wet mop, and clean hallways, entrances, resident areas, and common spaces.
• Perform routine floor inspections and address areas requiring additional attention.
• Shampoo and extract carpets as needed.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and floor maintenance programs.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Clean and maintain floor care equipment after each use.
• Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs to the supervisor.
• Assist with housekeeping duties in resident rooms and common areas when needed.
• Follow all facility safety, infection control, and environmental services procedures.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services team.
