Job summary

Cantex in Allen, TX is seeking a Floor Technician to perform scheduled floor care tasks under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor. The role includes mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, arranging furniture, and general cleaning of furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

The position emphasizes maintaining floor surfaces, operating floor-care equipment, and adhering to safety rules.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floor surfaces.
• Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
