Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Floor Technician to perform scheduled floor care tasks and related cleaning duties. The role may involve mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, and arranging furniture, among other cleaning activities.

The position requires experience in floor care and English proficiency, with opportunities to work across various facility areas and contribute to a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Floor Care.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floor surfaces.
• Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

This position may also mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.
