Job summary

Clean Team Inc. in Columbus, OH is hiring Commercial Floor Care Technicians to service offices, medical facilities, industrial spaces, retail environments and campuses in Columbus and surrounding areas.

We offer full-time or part-time hours with 2nd and 3rd shifts and weekend rotations. You’ll operate professional equipment and perform restoration techniques to improve flooring appearance, safety and longevity—while delivering quality results.

Qualifications

• At least one year of commercial floor care or specialty janitorial experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to operate commercial floor care equipment.
• Knowledge of floor restoration techniques and cleaning procedures.
• Understanding of OSHA/SDS chemical safety practices
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks

Responsibilities

• Hard Floor Care: stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, burnishing, polishing, and refinishing.
• Carpet Cleaning: extraction, deep cleaning, spot treatments.
• Equipment Operation: operate auto scrubbers and related machinery.
• Chemical Handling: mix and apply floor finishes per safety guidelines.
• Safety & Setup: set up barriers and signage for safe work.
• Project Completion: finish assigned cleaning projects and report to supervisors.
• Equipment Care: keep equipment clean and in safe working order.

Clean Team Inc. is looking for skilled and dependable Commercial Floor Care Technicians to join our Special Services division, serving Indianapolis and nearby communities. This role is an excellent fit for individuals who take pride in producing high‑quality results, enjoy hands‑on work, and have experience restoring and maintaining commercial flooring. Whether you’re seeking full‑time or part‑time hours, we offer flexible scheduling across 2nd shift, 3rd shift (overnight), and weekends to meet customer needs.

As a Floor Care Technician, you will work in a variety of commercial environments—including offices, medical facilities, industrial buildings, retail spaces, and educational campuses—performing specialized floor maintenance using professional‑grade equipment and proven restoration techniques. You’ll play a key role in improving the appearance, safety, and longevity of our clients’ flooring surfaces, often seeing the immediate impact of your work at the end of each shift.

What You’ll Do

Hard Floor Care — Perform stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, burnishing, polishing, and refinishing on VCT, sheet vinyl, ceramic tile, concrete, and other commercial flooring materials.

Carpet Cleaning — Complete carpet extraction, deep cleaning, and spot treatments using industry‑approved methods.

Equipment Operation — Safely operate auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors, and other specialized machinery.

Chemical Handling — Prepare, mix, and apply floor finishes and stripping chemicals according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.

Safety & Setup — Set up proper safety barriers and signage before beginning work to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.

Project Completion — Complete assigned specialty cleaning projects and maintain professional communication with supervisors and clients.

Equipment Care — Keep all equipment clean, organized, and in safe working condition.

What We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates bring a combination of experience, reliability, and professionalism:

At least one year of commercial floor care or specialty janitorial experience preferred

Demonstrated ability to operate commercial floor care equipment

Knowledge of floor restoration techniques and commercial cleaning procedures

Understanding of OSHA/SDS chemical safety practices

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, and weekends

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and extended walking
