Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Floor Technician responsible for scheduled floor care tasks and related duties, as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. The role may include mopping, sweeping, dusting, window washing, carpet shampooing, furniture arrangement, and general cleaning of furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

Primary duties include maintaining floor surfaces, buffing/waxing, carpet extraction, and safe operation of cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience using floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floor surfaces.
• Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
