Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Floor Technician for Laurel Court in Alvin, TX. You will perform scheduled floor care tasks, mop, sweep, wax, and maintain floors and carpets under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care in healthcare or institutional settings.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience using floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and restore all floor surfaces.
• Buff, wax, strip, and re-wax floors as directed.
• Extract and vacuum carpets as assigned.
• Identify safety hazards and report maintenance needs.
• Request supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Ensure patient/resident safety in work areas.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Floor Technician position is to perform scheduled floor care tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may also mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

Qualifications

• Experience in Floor Care.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Essential Functions

• Maintains all floor surfaces.
• Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
