Job summary

Solera at West Houston is seeking a Floor Technician to perform scheduled floor care tasks under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor. This role may involve mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, and arranging furniture to maintain clean and safe environments for residents and staff.

Excellent English communication skills are required, and experience with floor-care equipment is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floor surfaces.
• Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
