Job summary

Yellowstone General Stores in Yellowstone National Park, WY, is seeking a seasonal Retail Supervisor to lead and train retail staff, uphold standards, and deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include cash handling, POS operations, opening/closing procedures, and supporting management with daily tasks while offering guests a memorable experience in a premier national park setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a customer service or retail environment.
• Previous experience with point-of-sale and cash handling required.
• Ability to de-escalate guest and team member concerns and redirect to management.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide knowledgeable assistance regarding products and services.
• Open and close in accordance with management directives and procedures.
• Assist management with daily cash procedures and operations.
• Learn all roles within the department and provide hands-on support for coverage.
• Monitor floor, assist guests and team members, ensure inventory integrity.
• Record transactions using POS and assist with self-checkouts.
• Assist with check-in/check-out processes and dorm room coordination.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you do?

• Welcome guests and provide knowledgeable assistance regarding available products and services
• Responsible for opening and closing in accordance with management directives and operational procedures
• Assist management with the daily cash procedures and operations
• Learn all roles within the department and provide hands-on support as needed to ensure seamless coverage and continuity of service
• Monitor store floor, assist with guest and team member needs, and ensure integrity of physical inventory and par levels
• Accurately record all transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system and assist with self checkouts
• Assist with team member check-in and check-out processes to include documentation, assign dorm rooms, and coordinate required maintenance and repair for new arrivals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift
• Perform other duties assigned

More about you

• Ability to de-escalate guest and team member complaints or concerns and redirect to management
• Previous experience working with point-of-sale and cash handling required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a customer service or retail environment required
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
