Job summary

Compass Group USA's River Roast in Chicago is seeking a Floor Supervisor to support daily restaurant operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will supervise front-of-house staff, ensure service standards, and work with management to maintain safety and teamwork.

You will also help with onboarding, training, and daily procedures while maintaining a welcoming, high-energy environment for guests and teammates alike. Competitive hourly pay and walk-in opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of restaurant, hospitality, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent guest service and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations preferred.
• Food Handler and BASSET certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise front-of-house team during assigned shifts.
• Ensure excellent guest service and promptly address guest concerns.
• Monitor dining room operations to maintain efficient service and hospitality standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate team members to achieve performance expectations.
• Assist with employee onboarding and ongoing development.
• Collaborate with management and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Support opening and closing procedures, including completion of daily checklists.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Monitor staffing needs and communicate operational issues to management.
• Foster a positive work environment built on teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
