Job description

Position Purpose

Manages a staff of 25 to 100 table games employees on an assigned shift placing special emphasis on guest service, security of Four Queens & Binion’s assets and positive employee motivation and coaching. Direct the opening and closing of Table Games based on business level. Settles disputes that arise from guests in the Table Games area and consulting with Table Games Shift Manager, or Table Games Assistant Director. Displays a working knowledge of all current table games, with Craps being a main game, house rules, counting methods and procedures covering each. Assures that all coin and check racks are filled at all times.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, and ABILITY
  • Three (3) years in table games preferably in pit operation.
  • Two (2) years in a supervisory or dual-rated capacity.
  • Thorough knowledge of Title 31 and internal controls (MICS)
  • Knowledge of casino rules, regulations and procedures pertinent to Pit operations is preferred.
  • Must possess excellent customer relations, leadership and communication skills.
  • Assures guest development by interacting with guests.
  • Modeling interactive skills with guests and fellow employees
  • Remains alert to any unusual or questionable activities being displayed by any Table Games employee or gaming guest and reports any situations to assigned superior.
  • Observes problems or differences between Table Games employees and gaming guests and provides assistance if necessary.
  • Recommends changes in department including hiring, promotion, demotion and termination; recommends wage and salary changes for personnel within established limits.
  • Counsels, guides, coaches and instructs assigned personnel in the proper performance of their duties. Prepares and coordinates the periodical performance review of assigned personnel.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Minimum Employment Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent required. Must have strong communication skills. Must be willing to work any day of the week and any shift. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well‑groomed appearance. Must be able to work inside and continuously maneuver in and around assigned table in the Pit department during entire shift, with regular interval breaks. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items. Must be able to walk and be on feet for long periods of time. Must be able to respond calmly and handle many customer demands in a fast‑pace environment. Responds to visual and aural cues. Must be able to memorize game rules and procedures. Must be able to quickly and accurately perform mathematical computations when determining winners and losers and collecting and paying out bets. Must possess good manual dexterity for quick and accurate handling of chips, cards and money. Must have excellent vision (including peripheral) to protect the games. Must be able to read, verify and sign appropriate documents relating to the game in a small area. Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
