Qualifications

• Graduate of a School of Nursing and licensed in Indiana in good standing.
• Knowledgeable of nursing skills and practices.
• Health certificate/examination as required by State agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide total care for all assigned residents on the unit and supervise direct care staff.
• Perform restorative nursing measures as indicated and ordered.
• Maintain resident dignity, safety, and open communication with management and families.
• Explain treatment goals to residents/families and obtain cooperation.
• Supervise/unit staff and review daily nursing assignments for alignment with training and scope.
• Administer and document all medications at appropriate times; notify providers as needed.
• Make rounds with physicians and assist with examinations as indicated.
• Assess residents on admission and as condition changes; initiate care plans and participate in interdisciplinary planning.
• Maintain narcotics security and ensure supplies are stocked on the unit.
• Assist with discharge planning and provide resident/family instruction.
