Qualifications

Responsibilities

Floor Manager | Elevated Cocktail Lounge & Members Club | Hell’s Kitchen

Salary: $75,000 to $80,000 plus event and membership incentives
Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday, evenings, approximately 5:00 PM to 12:30 AM
Reports to: Owner

It’s HIM is an elevated cocktail lounge, membership club, and private event venue on Tenth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. We are hiring a Floor Manager to own the room every night we are open: the guest experience first, and the floor itself second.

This is a manager-on-duty role built around hospitality. You are the face of the venue to our members and guests, and you are the person in charge of the floor when ownership is not in the building. You are not behind a host stand and you are not behind the bar. You are in the room.

Guest, Member & VIP Experience

• Welcome, recognize, and build relationships with members, regulars, VIPs, and event hosts. Know names. Know preferences.
• Touch tables throughout service. Anticipate needs. Make sure no guest is left waiting or unattended.
• Read the room continuously: lighting, music level, candles, table presentation, entrance, restrooms, cleanliness, energy. Adjust before a guest notices.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, seating strategy, and table flow to maximize the room without damaging the experience.
• Take ownership of guest concerns and resolve them on the spot. Escalate to ownership with facts and a recommendation, not a question.
• Introduce guests to membership and onboard new members.

Manager on Duty

• Run the floor during service. Direct bartenders, barbacks, and kitchen on priorities when the room gets busy.
• Step in where the floor needs it: take an order, run a drink, reset a table, greet a party at the door.
• Be the first point of contact for incidents, noise complaints, police or inspector visits, and staff conflicts. Handle them, document them, and report them to ownership the same night.
• Hold the team to service and conduct standards during the shift and give ownership candid input on staff performance.
• Open and close the floor to standard.
• The Floor Manager’s focus is the room and the team during service; purchasing, payroll, and company finance remain with ownership.

Private Events

• Serve as on-site point of contact for booked events from setup through the last guest.
• Convert inbound event inquiries during your shift and keep event records current in our system.

Who we are looking for

• 2+ years as a Floor Manager, Service Manager, AGM, or manager on duty at a cocktail bar, lounge, nightlife venue, upscale restaurant, private club, or luxury hotel bar in New York City.
• A genuine host at heart: warm, polished, confident, magnetic, with real room awareness and the instinct to fix a problem before it becomes one.
• Comfortable holding a floor of seven on a packed Saturday, and comfortable being the adult in the room when something goes sideways.
• Experience with a membership or regulars-driven venue is a strong plus. Comfort with reservation and event software is required.
• Candidates whose management experience is in fast casual, quick service, retail, or non-hospitality settings will not be considered.

Compensation

• $75,000 to $80,000 salary, exempt, paid weekly
• $500 per month health reimbursement (QSEHRA) toward an individual health plan of your choice
• Event and membership incentives: 5% of collected revenue on inbound events you book, 10% on events you personally source, $150 per membership you enroll
