Job description

Floor Manager Champers Social Club

Location: Champers Social Club, SoHo, New York

Reports To: General Manager

Leads: Senior Servers, Servers & Support Team

Schedule: Full-Time

ABOUT CHAMPERS

Champers Social Club is SoHo’s boutique Champagne bar and all-day café, pouring a curated selection of bubbles alongside delicious bites. We blend an upscale, high-energy atmosphere with approachable luxury, a curated Champagne and cocktail program, and a highly stylized guest experience.

Champers is part of Festive & Co, a family of retail and hospitality concepts that includes Feste, led by husband-and-wife team Brenna Gilbert and Andrew McCaughan. Our leadership brings decades of experience from LVMH, Anthropologie, URBN, USHG, and Shake Shack.

But what we’re proudest of is simpler: people come back. A glass at the bar, dinner with friends, or a night to celebrate, we want every guest to feel like a regular.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a polished, service-driven hospitality professional to join our leadership team as Floor Manager. Your first focus is the guest: leading the dining room and bar during service, setting a sparkling tone, and making sure every table feels taken care of.

Your second focus is the team. Working with the Assistant General Manager, you’ll lead day‑to‑day training, coach in real time, and develop a tight‑knit, high‑performing team, and lead the execution of our events and large parties that delivers our warm, authentic brand of hospitality.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who leads from the floor and stays poised under pressure.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Guest Experience
  • Floor Presence: Lead the dining room and bar during service with a constant, warm, and visible presence.
  • Guest Relations: Get to know regulars and VIPs, read every table, and resolve feedback and concerns with grace and care.
  • Service Standards: Uphold our high‑touch steps of service with consistency and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reservations & Flow: Manage Resy, seating, and floor plans to balance flow and keep the room energized.
Events & Large Parties
  • Event Execution: Run events and large parties on the day, leading the team through service and keeping timing on track.
  • Setup & Breakdown: Lead room setup and breakdown for every event, following the plan set by the Assistant General Manager.
  • Event Briefing: Brief the team before each event on timing, menu, and guest details.
Team Training & Development
  • Day‑to‑day Training: Lead hands‑on training for new and existing team members, from steps of service to menu and Champagne knowledge, following the program set by the Assistant General Manager.
  • Coaching: Coach in real time during service, giving clear, timely feedback and recognizing great work.
  • Pre‑Shift Education: Help lead pre‑shift education on new dishes, wines, and the night’s service focus.
  • Senior Servers: Partner with Senior Servers to mentor Servers and Server Assistants on the floor.
  • Hiring Support: Help the Assistant General Manager interview and onboard new team members, and share feedback for performance reviews.
Shift Operations
  • Opening & Closing: Run opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Floor Plans: Set sections and floor assignments based on reservations and daily volume.
  • Health & Safety: Uphold NYC Department of Health standards and responsible alcohol service on every shift.
  • Communication: Keep the Assistant General Manager informed through the nightly Manager Log, flagging staffing, guest, and operational issues.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Front-of-house leadership experience in an upscale, high-volume restaurant or bar
  • A natural coach who loves training and developing people
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, and Champagne, with an eagerness to keep learning
  • Poise under pressure and a warm, stylish presence on the floor
  • Experience with POS systems and Resy
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
